We're making ads that look like movies - back when movies looked like movies. Grain, depth, texture, craft. No shortcuts, no prompts, and tasteful visuals effects that serve the story.

When people watch your ad, they’re judging your business. If you want their money, respect their intelligence. Give them a story - funny, moving, unforgettable - and get their attention, their trust, and their business.

STAN, FOUNDER, PRODUCER/DIRECTOR

Stan started writing radio ads before moving into film and visual effects — years of production work on projects like Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Fantastic 4 and Ballerina. Now he brings both sides together: the writing instinct from advertising, and the technical eye from VFX, aimed at ads that are sharply written and just as sharply directed.

JIM, HEAD OF PRODUCTION / DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Jim filmed the fall of the Berlin Wall. That was the early days. Thirty years behind the camera since, from the jungles of Belize to Hollywood soundstages, on productions including Fantastic Four and The Wheel of Time. Every Bird Named Randy shoot — every set, every detail, every plan — runs through Jim.

SEBASTIAN, PRODUCER

Before Bird Named Randy, Seb spent 9 years producing media for heavy industry — energy and marine clients including ExxonMobil. He’s also brought that same production discipline to feature films and series work for Netflix and HBO.

What We Make

Ads. Cinema-tic spots that make people feel something about your business.

Brand and Recruitment Films. Short documentaries that tell your company’s story - the “who we are” piece for your website, investors, or recruiting.

Training & Safety Content. The same craft, applied to the videos you pay your team to watch - because “boring but mandatory” doesn’t mean it has to look cheap.

3D Visualization. Your vision imagined in detail, before it exists.

How We’ll Work On Site

Before any site day, you get a shot list and a safety plan. We complete your induction, wear the PPE you specify, and work inside your permit-to-work system. We only film people who’ve agreed to be filmed. You own the final films outright; raw footage stays confidential, and nothing goes on our site without your written OK.

How Does This Work?

First, let’s get in touch and pick a date for an intro call. Leave a few words about your company and where it’s headed, so we come prepared. On the call, we’ll talk through the goal of the spot and how we’ll bring it to life.

From there, we write. We’ll meet again in 1–2 weeks to walk you through the script — this is your chance to shape the direction before we start production. After that, we’re heads-down making it real, with a rough-cut check-in along the way, and you’ll have the final piece in 1–3 months.

We’ve worked on some of the biggest projects in film and VFX for years — and in media for energy and shipping. Bird Named Randy started the day we saw a bird that looked like Tony Soprano. We took that as the sign to pull it all together.
